Otago Capture Upgrade Summer 2014

We would like to announce the upgrade of Otago Capture for 2014. We have scheduled the upgrade to happen at 9am on Friday 12th of December. This will mean that there will be no access to Otago Capture during this time.
This upgrade includes the roll out of Classroom Capture, a software Windows only option for recording scheduled lecture in smaller lecture theatres. Because of this we have decided to call the Otago Capture hardware devices Capture+. The key differences between Capture+ and Classroom Capture are live streaming only works on Capture+ and Capture+ is connected to the projector. You can still schedule recordings with Classroom Capture.
In addition to Classroom Capture the upgrade includes:

  • Android Mobile Upload – Once the upgrade is complete lecturers with Android devices will be able to use an app to upload videos from their mobile phones.
  • Background improvements – To allow quicker processing times and more stability

You can keep up-to-date with news about this update by following the ITS Service Desk notices (http://www.otago.ac.nz/its/servicenotices/) and here on the eLearning blog (www.otago.ac.nz/elearning). We will be using this blog to talk in more depth about the new features and improvements that have been made.

This timeframe has been updated to Friday 12th December 9am-11am.
