Annual Symposium 2022
The Genetics Otago Symposium 2022 is set to be held over two days for the first time! The schedule will feature a workshop and poster session as well as a fantastic lineup of speakers and an evening social event. Stay tuned for more details.

Time: 12:50 pm – 8:00 pm (1st Dec) and 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (2nd Dec)
Location: St David Lecture Theatre Complex (and online)
Registration and abstract submission for this event is now open, via the button below. Responses can be edited up until the closing date using the link provided at the end of the registration process.
- 30th September, registration and abstract submission open
- 4th November, abstract submission closed (5 pm NZDT)
- 11th November, authors advised
- 17th November, Poster and award nominations close (5 pm NZDT)
- 17th November, registration closed (5 pm NZDT)
Zoom details will be sent to those who register as outside of Dunedin, if you are in Dunedin and would like the Zoom details please indicate this on the registration form.
We will once again be recognising the achievements of our members with the Genetics Otago annual awards. Awards to be presented this year are:
- The Inaugural Genetics Otago Award
- Outstanding Mentor Awards
- Student Supervisor Award
- Publication Awards
- Poster Awards
- Science Communication Award
Full details of all award categories can be found here with details of how to apply or nominate for each. All Applications and nominations must be received by 5pm, Friday 17th November 2022.

An Audience With…
Our ‘An Audience With…’ series is aimed at our postgraduate students (but early career researchers are also welcome to attend) and will provide the opportunity for discussion with experts in their field.
As catering will be provided and spaces are limited we ask that you please register using the link below if you plan on attending (and please also let us know if something comes up and you are no longer able to attend, there are often waiting lists for these events).
