2023 Assembly of Investment Chairs: Direct Investment, Renewable Energy, Co-governance, Carbon Markets and Sustainable Debt Investment

The Assembly is for the benefit of Chairs of Investment Committees from a range of not-for-profit organisations, including community foundations, Iwi and community trusts at the forefront of real world impact, to support sustainability in endowment and investment decisions.

Chairs will have access to the knowledge and thinking of various domestic and international academics, leading practitioners and regulators. This year we cover topics such as Direct Investment, Renewable Energy, Co-governance, Carbon Markets and Sustainable Debt Investment.

2023 AOIC Workshop: Sustainable Investing

We are pleased to invite you to join an introductory workshop on Sustainable Investing to be held at the University of Otago Auckland Centre. This afternoon workshop will cover various sustainable investing approaches, ESG data measurement and related policy developments. This is a great primer for those attending the Assembly of Investment Chairs the following day and for anyone wanting to jumpstart their sustainable investing journey.

CEFGroup Sustainable Finance and Accounting Symposium

There has been a growing appetite for green finance in the entire financial system. Organisations around the world are shifting quickly to incorporate sustainable practices across all of their investments, services and strategies, driving benefits for society as a whole.

The Climate and Energy Finance Group (CEFGroup) welcomes submissions of papers for its fourth academic symposium. We welcome papers in all areas of Sustainable Finance and Accounting, such as, but not limited to, topics in climate finance, carbon markets, sustainable investing, greenwashing, sustainability disclosures, and net-zero commitments.

2022 Assembly of Investment Chairs: ESG, Engagement, Impact and Greenwashing

To build legitimate sustainable investing capability to align incentives.

The Assembly is for the benefit of Chairs of Investment Committees from a range of not-for-profit organisations, including community foundations, Iwi and community trusts at the forefront of real world impact, to support sustainability in endowment and investment decisions.

Chairs will have access to the knowledge and thinking of various domestic and international academics, leading practitioners and regulators. This year we cover topics such as Greenwashing, Impact investing, Engagement, Te Ao Maori-aligned Investing Policy and Climate disclosures.

3rd CEFGroup Climate Finance Symposium

 

 

The Climate and Energy Finance Group (CEFGroup) welcomes submissions of papers for its third academic climate finance symposium. We welcome papers in all areas of climate, sustainable, energy and carbon finance. All accepted papers will be allocated a discussant.

We intend to divide the symposium into two broad tracks. Day one will have a focus on climate finance and related innovative methodologies (GIS modelling, simulation, stress testing, machine learning etc.) and policy implications. Day two will focus more on conventional empirical and theoretical papers in sustainable finance.

1st CEFGroup Climate Finance Symposium

 

 

The Climate and Energy Finance Group (CEFGroup) welcomes submissions of papers for its inaugural academic climate finance symposium. We welcome papers in all areas of climate, sustainable, energy and carbon finance.

Day one will have a policy and Asia-Pacific orientation, where we welcome less technical policy oriented research. Day two will focus more on conventional empirical and theoretical finance papers, as well as innovative quantitative approaches (GIS modelling, simulation, stress testing, linking climate and financial modes etc.).

2020 Assembly of Investment Chairs: ESG Investing for COVID Recovery

 

 

Share knowledge of sustainable investing practices and how investors can contribute to COVID recovery. This event is unique in that its purpose is only for the benefit of Chairs of Investment Committees from a range of organisations.

The Assembly of Investment Chairs Share presents a significant opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities from ESG investing in the context of recovery from the COVID crisis.

Chairs will have access to the executives and thinking of the Guardians, the manager of the NZ Superannuation Fund, and benefit from insights from research from Otago University Business School, through the Climate and Energy Finance Group (CEFGroup).

Online Workshop on Climate Finance in Asia and Australasia, Tied to 3rd GRASFI Conference 2020

The aim of the workshop is to encourage community building among researchers focused on climate finance in Asia and Australasia. We take a broad definition of climate finance-related topics (see list of topics below) and we welcome submission from a range of methodological approaches (empirical analyses, theoretical, macroeconomic/monetary-environment models, case studies, policy analyses etc.). Papers should have clear relevance to policy or investment practice and utilise Asian and Australasian data or context.

Inaugural Assembly of Investment Chairs: Sustainable finance and climate risk

 

 

Share knowledge of sustainable investing practices and raise awareness about climate risks to investments and financial system.

This event is for chairs of investment committees from a range of organisations. The inaugural Assembly of Investment Chairs Share presents a significant opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities at a time when businesses, policy-makers and communities face new challenges in the field of sustainable finance and climate risk.

The Assembly of Investment Chairs is convened by the Otago Business School’s CEFGroup and NZ Super Fund.

Central goals for CEFGroup are to yield research agendas from a practitioner perspective and to explore funding opportunities and also gauge interest in teaching of sustainable finance principles for practitioners.
