Kia ora koutou,
In this blog we present words on a plural world from staff, students, and friends of the University of Otago’s Social Anthropology programme (also on Facebook). The name of our blog is drawn from a poem called ‘Snow’, by Louis Macniece:
World is suddener than we fancy it.
World is crazier and more of it than we think,
Incorrigibly plural.
…
As such we aim to explore cultures, societies, identities, embodiments, economies, moralities, and worlds… all in plural! Our hope is that this will be a blog that lets the world be as messy as it is, while exploring the beautiful and diverse sense-making that humans engage in as part of our journey through it. Our posts will aim to share some of the rich interpretive and critical discussions that our discipline has to offer. Enjoy!
