Masters and Honours Student Awards 2025
The 276th Scientific Meeting of OMSRS, the 2025 Honours/Masters Student Meeting, was held on the 5th November 2025. Thank you to the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences for sponsoring this event. 10 students from a variety of Faculty and departments within the Health Sciences Division had their abstracts accepted by the Editorial Panel and presented on the night. The presenters were:

Sophia Larsen, School of Pharmacy
Charlotte Watson, School of Physiotherapy
Connor Nicholls, Department of Anatomy
Jess Willans, Departmen tof Biochemistry
Caitlin O’Donnell, Department of Oral Rehabilitation
Polina Shevchuk, Department of Pathology

The judges for the meeting were Prof Stephanie Woodley (Department of Anatomy), Dr Kate Thomas (Department of Surgical Sciences) and Dr Mudassir Anwar (School of Pharmacy).
The winner was Isabella Culshaw, Department of Anatomy. (Abstract: IR Culshaw, OD Jones, RD Ward, RGK Munn. Investigating the impacts of GLP-1 receptor agonism on brain activity and motivated behaviour in rats.). Isabella received $500 in prize money.

The runner-up was George Willett, Department of Paediatrics & Child Health. (Abstract: G Willett, A Boucsein, C Lopez-Sanchez, R Paul, S Sehgal, J Haszard, C Jefferies, E Wiltshire, M de Bock, and B Wheeler. The AID IMPACT study: automated insulin delivery to improve outcomes for Māori and Pacific adults with type 1 diabetes and above target glycaemia.) George received $250.

The standard of presentations was very high. Congratulations to all the presenters, and to Isabella and George on their awards.
