Welcome Sana
I am Sana Maroof from Pakistan, and I completed my Master of Science in Physics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. During my master’s research, I focused on valleytronics in 2D materials, using Density functional theory (DFT) to explore their electronic and optical properties. I have now started my PhD at the University of Otago under the supervision of Professor Keith Gordon, working on the Application of low-frequency Raman spectroscopy for the evaluation and design of new materials. My research combines low frequency Raman spectroscopy with DFT simulations to develop a deeper understanding of material structure, vibrations, and functionality. I am highly motivated to contribute to this field by producing high impact research that advances spectroscopic techniques and supports the development of next generation materials.
