Jeremy on fieldwork

Jeremy in the field. As part of the Marsden program “Tales of time and scale: Looking back in time through Aotearoa’s rock art” Jeremy was on a field trip to examine rock art. The Bruker instrument stands on a modified tripod that allows the spectra to be taken of the artwork without touching it. Using the spectral data it starts to become possible to identify the pigments used.

The spectrometer is close to the wall, but it is not touching!
