Congratulations Mitchell

Mitchell Chalmers has submitted his PhD thesis for examination.  His thesis entitled “Raman Spectroscopy for
Biomedical Applications” focuses on the use of Raman spectroscopy to investigate mineral growths in human tissue; such as those associated with breast cancer.  His work has already been published in the following papers:

Chalmers, M.; Gordon, Keith C.; McCane, B.; Fraser-Miller, Sara J. Probing the Stability of Convolution Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines With Transmission Low Wavenumber Raman Spectroscopic Data. Journal of Raman Spectroscopy 2025, 56 (12), 1519–1528

Chalmers, M. C.; Tomberg, T.; Gordon, K. C.; Fraser-Miller, S. J. Discriminating Model Microcalcifications Immersed and Under Varying Depths of Wax Using Deep Low-Frequency Raman Spectroscopy. Applied Spectroscopy Practica 2024, 2 (4), 1 – 12
