Hi all
I’d like to pass on the excellent news that the Division of Sciences has agreed to support the proposed Otago Analytical Core Repository (OAR) from its Strategic Fund. That means that, for the next couple of years, we have some funds to establish an Otago-wide core database, and a centralised facility for doing work on core, for setting up some containers that we can use as science labs on drillsites, and for having a ‘transitional facility’ for potentially biologically-contaminated cores coming from overseas. There are also some funds there to support administrative and technical support.
Gary and I – with Bob Dagg’s assistance – are now working on the fine details of a budget – including precise costs from suppliers. We would like your feedback on this, and to have the opportunity to discuss the whole concept with you, and so invite you to meet with us on:
Friday 2 June, 10-11am in the Otago Uni Staff Club
We will circulate a proposed budget and plan in advance of this meeting.
