Projects on offer – Honors, Masters, or PhD (1 – 3 years)

This PhD topic could focus on investigating and optimizing the use of microbes, including probiotics, in various agricultural formulations such as seed coatings, sprays, and granules. The research could delve into understanding the underlying mechanisms that ensure the viability of formulated microbes and their impact on crop health and productivity.

This topic could explore the intersection of food science and pharmacognosy to enhance access to rongoā rākau, a traditional Māori medicinal practice. The PhD research could involve developing innovative methods for formulating and delivering medicinal compounds derived from plants, aligning with the nature-based solutions theme.

This topic could concentrate on developing improved methods for controlling ecological and agricultural pests. The research may involve taste masking techniques for bait formulations and innovative delivery systems, ensuring effective pest control while minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable wildlife management.

This PhD topic could explore the development of new formulations for agrichemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The research would involve leveraging formulation engineering techniques to create innovative products that contribute to advancements in agriculture, and veterinary healthcare.

This research could focus on integrating analytical chemistry with microbial solutions to develop cross-disciplinary approaches for sustainable agriculture.
