What is Zoom?<\/h2>\n

Zoom is\u00a0the University of Otago’s officially supported online meeting solution. It allows for meetings of up to 300 participants and unlimited duration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

University of Otago staff and students are entitled to create an account,\u00a0see\u00a0the Getting Started for students<\/a> page or Getting Started for staff<\/a> page to begin the short process.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zoom is a simple online videoconference and instant messaging application which has an easy to use interface but with powerful features to cover the wide variety of uses across the University, when communicating at distance.<\/p>\n

Please note: It is not necessary to have a Zoom account to join a Zoom meeting from another person\u2019s invitation.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Zoom offers high quality video, audio, and screen-sharing experience across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux.<\/p>\n

Attendees can also join Zoom meetings from an ordinary telephone<\/a> for an audio-only connection or easily link their voice on the phone with their video on a computer via Zoom\u2019s convenient Participant ID technology.<\/p>\n
