The Digital Dental Programme Team

The Digital Dental Programme draws on the experience and skills of a wide range of people, including Dental School staff, University staff, IT and specialist project personnel as well as dental software provider consultants.

Leading and Managing the Programme.

In recognition of the importance of the Programme, Professor Paul Brunton (Dean Otago Dental School), Professor Peter Crampton (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Health Sciences), Mr Mike Harte (Director Information Technology Services), Mr Barry McKay (Director Property Services), Ms Tracy Huntleigh-Smith (Director, Health Sciences ICT) Dr Suzanne Hanlin ( Associate Dean Clinical) and Mrs Alice Baxter (Faculty Finance Manager, School of Dentistry) have been appointed to the Executive Steering Committee to lead the Programme.

The Executive Sponsor Group provides overall direction, guidance and support to the Programme, and monitors the Projects of the programme to ensure successful delivery of expected outputs and outcomes.

Tracy Huntleigh-Smith, Suzanne Hanlin and Peter Cathro , form the Project Control Group. They ensure that the Programme meets the requirements of the Dental School and delivers what is expected. They are supported the Programme Manager, Steve von Metzinger.

Supporting and facilitating the Programme.

The Working group provide expertise from the School of Dentistry to the Project team as they develop solutions and processes. Working group members also act as representatives for their area, and are expected to report back on project related issues and outcomes. This provides an important operational link between the Dental School and the Programme.

Subject Matter Experts.

Selected Dental School and University staff members have been nominated by their managers to join the Project team as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The SMEs bring valuable institutional knowledge to the team.

Programme team members.

The programme team members are responsible for the solution planning and development. Their aim is to ensure that the necessary requirements are included in the solution design. The team comprises the following team members:

  • Steve von Metzinger.

Titanium Solutions.

The Dental School has chosen to continue their long established relationship with Titanium Solutions (formerly Spark Dental Technology) as the supplier of the Titanium application. Titanium Solutions is based in Auckland and include a number of specialist consultants who provide specific expertise as and when required.
