All the work and discussion is conducted in the M\u0101ori language. This year one of their assignments was the translation of a text, selected by Jeanette Wikaira, Kaituhituhi Ratonga M\u0101ori at the Hocken Library, was an account by Hau\u0101uru Taipari of Ng\u0101ti Maru about a visit to Ng\u0101ti Awa and Whakat\u014dhea in 1864. The students divided the text up, and transcribed and translated it.
