{"id":458,"date":"2015-11-23T13:57:36","date_gmt":"2015-11-23T00:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/tetumuresearch\/?p=458"},"modified":"2015-11-23T14:04:19","modified_gmt":"2015-11-23T01:04:19","slug":"three-items","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/tetumuresearch\/three-items\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Items"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Puke Ariki Trust Scholarship<\/span><\/strong>, valued at $5000, supports the studies of a postgraduate student whose research relates to Taranaki\u2019s social history.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/pukeariki.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Puke Ariki<\/a> is Taranaki&#8217;s Museum, Library, Archive Centre based in New Plymouth, renowned for its extensive heritage collections.\u00a0 If you are interested in this scholarship, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/crocc\/files\/2015\/11\/Puke-Ariki-Trust-Scholarship-Terms-and-Conditions-.pdf\">Puke Ariki Trust Scholarship Terms and Conditions.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Associate<\/span><\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Professor Jenny Bryant-Tokalau<\/span><\/strong> presented a paper to the conference \u2018<strong>Islands and Oceans: Navigating Pacific Futures\u2019<\/strong> held at Auckland University, November 12-13<sup>th<\/sup> 2015.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jenny\u2019s paper, entitled \u2018<em>Reforming Land Tenure in the Pacific: requirements and implications, the case of Fiji\u2019<\/em>, was chaired by former Oxfam director Barry Coates, and was part of an intensive two day workshop between University of Auckland (Pacific Studies), Auckland University of Technology, Australian National University and the University of Otago to look at areas of collaborative Pacific research.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_459\" style=\"width: 284px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/tetumuresearch\/files\/2015\/11\/Screen-shot-2015-11-23-at-1.50.20-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-459\" class=\"wp-image-459 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/tetumuresearch\/files\/2015\/11\/Screen-shot-2015-11-23-at-1.50.20-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen shot 2015-11-23 at 1.50.20 PM\" width=\"274\" height=\"259\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-459\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nathan Albury (left)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Te Tumu PhD student <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Nathan Albury<\/span><\/strong> recently was awarded the Griffith University School of Language and Linguistics Outstanding Alumnus Award in recognition of his PhD research into <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/tetumuresearch\/2015\/05\/13\/attitudes-of-nz-youth-to-maori-language-revitalization\/\" target=\"_blank\">folk linguistics for Te Reo Maori and Sami language<\/a>.
