If you have forgotten your password over the break, don’t worry, it can be recovered. There are two ways that you can reset your password.
- If you have previously set your challenge questions in the Identity Management Console, you will be able to use the Forgotten your Password function. You will find this at otago.ac.nz/password. For a detailed guide on how to do this click here.
- Bring your student ID card to the Student IT Help Desk in the central library and we can help you out. If you cannot get to the central library you can contact us in the following ways. You will be required to answer additional questions to prove your identity.

Setting Your Challenge Questions
Head to otago.ac.nz/password. If you have not yet set up your challenge questions you will be prompted to do so.
Choose the questions you can answer easily and won’t forget.
