Properties (metadata) and how to use them

Properties are the extra information added to a file.

They can be added when you create a file, upload a single copy, or when you go back in to edit them.

Basically, they are additional tags or info that anyone with access can use later to search for a file.

This can be very useful for someone else looking for a file where they don’t necessarily know what you called it. It allows them to narrow down the search.

View or edit properties

Select the file and then in the Files tab, press the View Properties button or Edit Properties button as required.

Alternatively, while a file is selected, you can press the three dots (ellipsis) beside it and then press the next set of dots to get to the further properties settings.
