Generally speaking, it is suggested that you may find it easiest to create documents as you normally would in Word, and then upload them to OURDrive when finished. However, for times when you may prefer to create them directly in OURDrive, it is also possible.
Open the library where you wish to create a document. The document library will be displayed. From the ribbon, select the Files tab.
Click the New Document button and select the type of document you wish to create.
The options available will depend on what has been created for that library. If prompted, click OK to the confirmation message. This opens Word or the Word Web App with a blank document.
If it opened Word, save the document. Give it a name and click the Save button. It will automatically be saved to the correct library in the OURDrive team site.
The document will appear in the list of documents in the library, with you as the author, and the correct version and content type assigned. (You may need to change the view to see these columns.)
The green starburst to the right of the name means it is new.
However, there will be no metadata, except what is there by default, so fill in document metadata in the library.

You may also get a message asking you to allow it access to your Keychain. Accept that as well.
This opens a new window where you can select your library if you have used it before.
If you don’t see your library listed here, press the plus sign in the bottom left corner.
In the Add a SharePoint Library window, type or paste in the URL to your OURDrive library. Then press the Add button.
This is everything in the Address Bar to the left of: “Forms/ AllItems.aspx” as shown below.
When finished, press Save.
Fill in document properties as necessary in the library.
