{"id":555,"date":"2025-09-12T11:12:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T23:12:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/?p=555"},"modified":"2025-09-12T11:19:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T23:19:39","slug":"msc-hons-pgdipsci-student-award-2025-call-for-abstracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/msc-hons-pgdipsci-student-award-2025-call-for-abstracts\/","title":{"rendered":"MSc \/ Hons \/ PGDipSci Student Award 2025 &#8211; Call for Abstracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u202f<strong>Call for Abstracts for the MSc \/ Hons \/ PGDipSci Speaker Award<\/strong>\u202fat the 276<sup>th<\/sup> Scientific Meeting of the Society.<\/p>\n<p>This will occur between 5.00 \u2013 7.30 pm on Wednesday 5<sup>th<\/sup> November 2025 in the Barnett Lecture.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of judges will award $500 to the best speaker, and the runner-up will be awarded $250. The prizes and event costs are kindly supported by Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, University of Otago<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for the award you must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Not previously won this award<\/li>\n<li>Be working towards a Honours or Masters qualification (including BSc(Hons), BMedSci(Hons), PGDipSci, MSc or other Masters degree) in a health-related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Either\n<ol>\n<li>Not graduated with the degree related to the work being presented, or<\/li>\n<li>Graduated with the degree related to the work being presented in 2025<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Report the results of health related research that you have made a major contribution to as part of your Masters\/Hons project, and was performed under the auspices of University of Otago, Dunedin.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For details on how to enter and abstract preparation guidelines, please see our blog page\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/\">https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Abstract submission closes at\u202f<strong>5pm on 6<sup>th<\/sup> October 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>N\u0101u te rourou, n\u0101ku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi<\/p>\n<p>(With your basket, and my basket, the people will be well)\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u202fCall for Abstracts for the MSc \/ Hons \/ PGDipSci Speaker Award\u202fat the 276th Scientific Meeting of the Society.
