Five early career researchers had their abstracts accepted by the Editorial Panel, and the the overall standard of presentation on the night was extremely high. The event was generously sponsored by the School of Biomedical Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The winner was <strong>Dr Sankalita Ray Das<\/strong> from the Department of Biochemistry. (Abstract: <u>S Ray Das<\/u>, R Sullivan, M Ruegg, J Horsfield et al. Recurrent de novo variants in the splicing factor CRNKL1 cause severe neurodevelopmental disorder). (Abstract: <u>BH Roxburgh<\/u>, HA Campbell, HD Cotter, MJA Williams, KN Thomas. Hot water immersion, and immersion per se, reduces 24 h blood pressure in people with hypertension).
