{"id":482,"date":"2025-02-12T10:07:03","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T21:07:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/?p=482"},"modified":"2025-02-13T17:20:49","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T04:20:49","slug":"summer-student-award-2025-call-for-abstracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/summer-student-award-2025-call-for-abstracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Student Award 2025 &#8211; Call for Abstracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kia ora koutou,<\/p>\n<p>The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u00a0<strong>Call for Abstracts for the Summer Student Award<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0<strong>273<sup>rd<\/sup> <\/strong>\u00a0Scientific Meeting of the Society.<\/p>\n<p>This will occur between 5.00 \u2013 7.30 pm on Wednesday 16<sup>th<\/sup> April 2025 in the Barnett Lecture Theatre. An option for attending and presenting via Zoom will also be offered.<\/p>\n<p>Up to 10 speakers will be selected to present an 8 minute presentation, with 4 minutes for questions.\u00a0A panel of judges will award $500 to the best speaker, and the runner-up will be awarded $250, kindly sponsored by Otago Medical Research Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for the award you must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>have not previously won this award<\/li>\n<li>report the results of health-related research that you have made a major contribution to, and which was performed during the most recent summer research fellowship under the auspices of the University of Otago, Dunedin.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For details on how to enter and abstract preparation guidelines, please see our blog page\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/\">https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Abstract submission closes at\u00a0<strong>5pm on<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>N\u0101u te rourou, n\u0101ku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi<\/p>\n<p>(With your basket, and my basket, the people will be well)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kia ora koutou, The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u00a0Call for Abstracts for the Summer Student Award\u00a0at the\u00a0273rd \u00a0Scientific Meeting of the Society.
