{"id":356,"date":"2023-06-26T14:21:15","date_gmt":"2023-06-26T02:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/?p=356"},"modified":"2023-09-18T13:19:34","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T01:19:34","slug":"phd-student-award-2023-call-for-abstracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/phd-student-award-2023-call-for-abstracts\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD Student Award 2023 \u2013 Call for Abstracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Kia ora koutou<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Call for Abstracts for the 2023 PhD Student Award<\/span><\/strong><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">at the 267th Scientific Meeting of the Society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">This will occur between 5.00 \u2013 7.30 pm on Wednesday 16th August 2023 in the Barnett Lecture. An option for attending and presenting via Zoom will also be offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">A panel of judges will award $500 to the best speaker, and the runner-up will be awarded $250. This award is sponsored by the OMRF.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">To be eligible for the award you must:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Have not previously won the award<\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Either\n<ol>\n<li data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Not graduated with your PhD, or<\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Graduated with your PhD in 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Report the results of health-related research that you have made a major contribution to as part of your PhD, and was performed under the auspices of the University of Otago, Dunedin.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">For details on how to enter and abstract preparation guidelines, please see our blog page <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/\" data-ogsc=\"\">https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/omsrs\/abstract-submission\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">Abstract submission closes at 5pm on Friday 7<sup>th<\/sup> July 2023<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(33, 33, 33)\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"black\">N\u0101u te rourou, n\u0101ku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span data-ogsc=\"black\">(With your basket, and my basket, the people will be well)<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kia ora koutou The Otago Medical School Research Society is proud to announce the\u00a0Call for Abstracts for the 2023 PhD Student Award\u00a0at the 267th Scientific Meeting of the Society.
