Further methods of modulating these interactions have been studied (Larsen <em>et. al.<\/em>, <em>Eur. J. Org. Chem.<\/em> <strong>2017<\/strong>, Barnsley <em>et. al.<\/em>, <em>J. Phys. Chem.<\/em> A. <strong>2016<\/strong>). More recently, \u2018dual-emission\u2019 behaviours has been identified in these systems and show sensitivity to the surrounding environment (Barnsley et. al., <em>J. Phys. Chem A.<\/em> <strong>2018<\/strong>). We have also applied Raman spectroscopy to parrot pigments and identified a unique solid state \u2018frequency dispersion\u2019 effect which had not previously been documented (Barnsley et. al., <em>Royal Soc. Open Sci<\/em> <strong>2018<\/strong>). Our computational methods identified that conformational changes may tune the pigments optical properties, which could provide an explanation for this \u2018frequency dispersion\u2019 (Barnsley <em>et. al.<\/em> SciX <strong>2016<\/strong>). Calculations have also been useful when investigating a number of systems such as \u2018inorganic \u2018cages\u2019 (Preston <em>et. al<\/em>. J. Am. Chem. Soc. <strong>2016<\/strong>), \u2018molecular machines\u2019 (Scottwell <em>et. al.<\/em> ChemComm <strong>2017<\/strong>) and \u2018ionophores\u2019 (Lisak <em>et. al.<\/em> Synth.
