Congrats to Khansa

Congratulations to Khansa on her recent paper in The Journal of Physical Chemistry A.  The work, entitled, “Impact of Tuning the Structure of Dibromo‑9H‑fluorene-9-ylidene Acceptor-Based Dyes on the Optical and Electronic Properties for Photonic Applications“,  describes the photophysical properties of three dibromo-fluorene-9-ylidene-based dyes using experimental spectroscopy and DFT calculations.  The findings  highlight how tuning the structures of the donor−acceptor systems, in particular, the linker and the donor strength, shape the nature and character of the excited-state. The delicate balance between conjugation and donor strength could shape the excited-state dynamics toward optimizing the dye performance.
