{"id":10,"date":"2024-05-20T03:57:59","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T03:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/impact\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2024-12-04T21:21:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T21:21:26","slug":"new-page-title","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/impact\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridging the Gap between Research and Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5 style=\"text-align: center\">Welcome to the Impact Accelerator at Otago University.<\/h5>\n<p>Our mission is to empower students in our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/impact\/a-professional-doctorate-the-otago-university-dba-program\/\">Professional Doctorate<\/a> (DBA) Program to generate meaningful impact through their research, both during and after their academic journey.<\/p>\n<p>Designed as a sustainable, structured program that operates independently of internal university funding, the Impact Accelerator emphasises the development of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.impactaccelerator.network\/impact-projects\">self-contained projects<\/a> led by our DBA students, each with clear objectives, resources, and funding.<\/p>\n<p>With our students, we utilise the concept of Collaborative Innovation Networks (COIN), for the Accelerator to foster a dynamic ecosystem where students, staff, and industry professionals collaborate to achieve common goals.<\/p>\n<p>In support of this approach, our DBA students have set up an external <a href=\"http:\/\/www.impactaccelerator.network\">Impact Accelerator Network<\/a> to support their research endeavours and make a positive impact on the world around us.<\/p>\n<p>This combined approach encourages the free flow of ideas, rapid problem-solving, and continuous innovation, benefiting all participants through shared knowledge and resources.<\/p>\n<h3>Impact Accelerator Objectives<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make an Impact from Research:<\/strong> provide opportunities for Otago DBA students to make a positive impact by supporting the needs of industry and public-sector organizations with their research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facilitate Collaborative Innovation<\/strong>: Enable students and staff at Otago University Business School to collaborate on innovative and impactful projects and programs with industry and other higher education institutes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhance Knowledge Sharing<\/strong>: Create a platform for DBA students to share their experiences, insights and best practices on how to make an impact from research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drive Post-Graduate Program Awareness:<\/strong> Increase awareness of Otago University School Business post-graduate and executive management programs such as the Doctorate and Master of Business Administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Impact Accelerator Contacts:<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sara Carr, Co-Director &#8211; Research. <a href=\"mailto:sarah.carr@otago.ac.nz\">email<\/a><br \/>\nMr. Malcolm Fraser, Co-Director &#8211; Industry Engagement. <a href=\"mailto:malcolm@malcolmfraser.net\">email<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the Impact Accelerator at Otago University.
