Our Name<\/h1>\n

Te R\u016bnanga o Ng\u0101i Tahu are strong supporters of green hydrogen as a potential future energy source, given its green environmental and social license footprint. With the leadership of Murihiku Regeneration<\/a><\/strong> (Ng\u0101i Tahu \u2013 Southern leadership), the green hydrogen ecosystem in the South of New Zealand is being comprehensively explored. Based on this, Te R\u016bnanga o Ng\u0101i Tahu have committed to supporting the German-NZ Green Hydrogen Alliance, as the purpose of the alliance aligns with the green hydrogen vision and aspirations of Ng\u0101i Tahu.<\/p>\n

On behalf of Te R\u016bnanga o Ng\u0101i Tahu, Dr Hana O\u2019Regan<\/b> (Ng\u0101i Tahu \u2013 te reo M\u0101ori language expert; Tumu Whakarae\/CEO CORE Education<\/a>) with the support of Aimee Kaio<\/b>\u00a0(Ng\u0101i Tahu; German-NZ green hydrogen centre team member), deliberated and created a M\u0101ori name for the German-NZ Green Hydrogen Alliance and Centre for Research, Networking and Outreach, including a whakatauk\u012b (proverb or brand line). This gift was revealed and celebrated at the opening of the inaugural NZ Hydrogen Symposium (NZHS-1<\/u><\/a>) at the University of Otago on 1 February 2023, in Dunedin, \u014ct\u0101kou. In this recording<\/u><\/a> Dr O\u2019Regan gives the narrative that underpins the name, He Honoka Hauwai, and proverb:<\/p>\n
