Outreach<\/h1>\n

One of the goals of He Honoka Hauwai is to engage and educate the public through outreach activities, done collaboratively with partners when we can. Some of the photos from outreach activities that the Centre’s members have participated in are shown below.<\/p>\n

Ng\u0101i Tahu commissioned a video to showcase a few of the researchers working on hydrogen in Te Waipounamu (South Island, NZ), specifically the leaders of the German-NZ Green Hydrogen research grants. This video provides an accessible introduction to green hydrogen and some of the areas our research are investigating. Please check it out on Youtube<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Recent University of Otago Energy Managment<\/a><\/strong> graduate Yoyo Wu<\/strong><\/a> started working with HWR Hydrogen<\/strong><\/a> after finishing her degree. Yoyo talked to us about the work HWR Hydrogen is doing to reduce emissions in the trucking industry, and the critical role her energy management degree played in getting her this exciting position. \"\"<\/a>We’re very grateful to\u00a0HWR Hydrogen<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for inviting Prof Sally Brooker and Michael Bennington down to the George Begg Festival in Invercargill to talk to the public about green hydrogen. At the festival HW Richardson launched their dual-fuel truck, the first of its kind in Australasia, which can combust hydrogen along with the diesel for up to a 40% reduction in emissions, a groundbreaking and exciting step to a greener future! Schools green hydrogen outreach team<\/strong>, at Southland Girls High School, Invercargill, 23 November 2021. Our Invercargill ‘green hydrogen’ outreach, visited 7 schools and SIT, brilliantly MC’ed by Ra Dallas (nkmp) for Murihiku Regeneration, with activities led by Dr Dave Warren (Otago University) and his outreach team, accompanied by Hamish Tonkin (GWD Motor Group) with the Hyundai Nexo hydrogen fuel cell car, resulted in two busy, informative and fun days for all concerned.
