{"id":298,"date":"2018-05-30T10:45:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-29T22:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/globalmigration\/?p=298"},"modified":"2018-07-09T13:40:03","modified_gmt":"2018-07-09T01:40:03","slug":"addressing-the-challenges-of-migrant-elder-care-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.otago.ac.nz\/globalmigration\/addressing-the-challenges-of-migrant-elder-care-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Addressing the Challenges of Migrant Elder Care Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Workshop<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>&#8216;Addressing the Challenges of Migrant Elder Care&#8217;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Friday 13 July 2018, 9.30-4pm<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Dunedin Public Art Gallery<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This one-day workshop, co-hosted with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.otago.ac.nz\/care\/index.html\">Collaboration of Ageing Research Excellence<\/a>, brings together academics, practitioners and the general public to address the challenges of migrant elder care.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will comprise formal presentations in the morning with break-out brainstorming sessions in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Our speakers are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fr Michael Hishon (Chaplain of Little Sisters of the Poor rest home and hospital)<\/li>\n<li>Beryl Lee (Dunedin Multi Ethnic Council)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.massey.ac.nz\/massey\/expertise\/profile.cfm?stref=515350\" target=\"\">Dr Liangni Sally Liu<\/a>\u00a0(Massey University)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.otago.ac.nz\/management\/staff\/otago623499.html\" target=\"\">Esther Ngocha-Chaderopa<\/a>\u00a0(Rotorua Institute of Technology and University of Otago)<\/li>\n<li>Robyn Pask (Chief Executive, Interpreting New Zealand)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lunch and morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
