Three Year Project

Our three-year interdisciplinary research project on “The Practical-speculative divide in early modern thought”  is a a sustained interdisciplinary study.  This study will prove to be foundational for a new methodological framework for early modern intellectual history that is being developed at the University of Otago.  The project will involve three conferences and produce three edited collections as well as ancillary publications and this, our research blog.  The 2012 conference, to be convened by Prof. Lyn Tribble, is on the theme “Practical knowledge in early modern thought and practice” and will coincide with an international postgraduate workshop on the theme “Interdisciplinarity in early modern research.”
