The Dunedin Colorectal Cohort was established in the 1990s to facilitate research into the development and spread of cancer, and includes biospecimens and clinical information gifted to the cohort by people with colorectal cancer for this purpose.

Currently the Dunedin Colorectal Cohort comprises samples and data from approximately 2000 individuals, and these are available for use in research projects based in New Zealand. Requests for access to biospecimens and/or clinical information can be made to the Management Group via a web-based form.

Funding for the Dunedin Colorectal Cohort is made possible by the generous support of:

The Maurice Wilkins Centre for Molecular Biodiscovery

Healthcare Otago Charitable Trust

Cancer Research Trust

Centre for Translational Cancer Research

University of Otago

The DNCRC is embedded within Dunedin Hospital and relies on the cooperation and teamwork of many Te Whatu Ora and Awanui Laboratory staff members.
