Oliver prize<\/a>.\u00a0 This was the first time the prize has been awarded, for the best recent book on any aspect of New Zealand history. Tony&#8217;s book,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.press.auckland.ac.nz\/en\/browse-books\/all-books\/books-2015\/entanglements-of-empire.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Entanglements of Empire: Missionaries, M\u0101ori, and the Question of the Body<\/em><\/a>, published by Auckland University Press, was the winning entry, announced yesterday at the New Zealand Historical Association conference in Christchurch.\u00a0\u00a0 The books of two other CROCC members, Tom Brooking&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penguin.co.nz\/products\/9780143569671\/richard-seddon-king-gods-own\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Richard Seddon: King of God&#8217;s Ow<\/em><\/a>n and Angela Wanhalla&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.press.auckland.ac.nz\/en\/browse-books\/all-books\/books-2013\/Matters-of-the-Heart-A-History-of-Interracial-Marriage-in-New-Zealand.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Matters of the heart: A History of Interracial Marriage<\/em><\/a> in New Zealand were shortlisted, as was that of Melissa Matutina Williams, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bwb.co.nz\/books\/panguru-and-the-city\" target=\"_blank\">Panguru and the City: K\u0101inga Tahi, K\u0101inga Rua.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Centre director, Professor Tony Ballantyne, for winning the W.H.
