Oliver Prize<\/a> for best book on New Zealand history, to be awarded next week at the New Zealand Historical Association conference.\u00a0 The books are Tony Ballantyne, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.press.auckland.ac.nz\/en\/browse-books\/all-books\/books-2015\/entanglements-of-empire.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Entanglements of Empire: Missionaries, Maori, and the Question of the Body<\/em><\/a> (AUP); Tom Brooking, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penguin.co.nz\/products\/9780143569671\/richard-seddon-king-gods-own\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Richard Seddon, King of God\u2019s Own: The Life and Times of New Zealand\u2019s Longest Serving Prime Minister<\/em><\/a> (Penguin); and Angela Wanhalla, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.press.auckland.ac.nz\/en\/browse-books\/all-books\/books-2013\/Matters-of-the-Heart-A-History-of-Interracial-Marriage-in-New-Zealand.html\" target=\"_blank\">Matters of the Heart: A History of Interracial Marriage in New Zealand<\/a><\/em> (AUP).<\/p>\n<p>All three finalists are academics within the Department of History and Art History, but also members of the Centre for Research on Colonial Culture.
