My research focuses on the properties of helical crystals in natural composite materials such as cellulose and chitin. Being a scientist is a lifestyle choice now days and it is fantastic to have a job that is interesting and where no two days are the same.<\/p>\n<p>I have found that the skills I learnt as an inorganic chemist at the University of Otago have been of daily use to me in my current position.
