<\/a><\/p>\nKieran DeMonte<\/a>\u00a0recently returned from five weeks working with Prof\u00a0Garry Hanan<\/a>\u2019s group at the\u00a0Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>, Canada, carrying out a series of homogenous hydrogen and CO2\u00a0reduction photocatalysis studies, as part of a multi-year\u00a0MBIE<\/a>\u00a0catalyst seed grant that will end mid-2023. Kieran learnt and developed valuable homogeneous photocatalysis skills under the expert guidance of the Hanan group (thanks particularly to Dr\u00a0Folaranmi Akogun<\/a> and Olivier Schott), and collected data on a family of our complexes. We are grateful to them for hosting this research visit and our continuing collaboration!<\/p>\n Sally<\/strong>\u00a0and Prof Nicola Gaston (both representing the MacDiarmid Institute) went on a DAAD funded tour of German Clusters of Excellence by NZ scientists and policy makers, in January (2020) and were presented with a crystal of silicon by Prof Torsten Boeck<\/strong> during their tour of the Leibniz Institute for Crystal Research (Berlin).\u00a0 Photo Jan 2020.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She also caught up with Dr Paul Jerabek<\/strong> (Helmholtz Centre for Materials and Coastal Research), whilst visiting Hamburg.<\/p>\n __________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n The weather has changed from autumn (top) to winter (bottom) whilst Fola<\/strong> has been working in Montreal for 9 weeks with our collaborator Prof Garry Hanan<\/strong> (left in top photo).
